Daily Poll 57: Should the Rippaverse launch independently or on IGG?
Rippa said on today’s episode on FCS that he is leaning toward selling the first book of the Rippaverse independently instead of launching it on Indiegogo. I think independently will be the best thing to do as it sends a message of him competing against DC and Marvel. That is just me what do you guys think?

I’d say independently if you can. Igg could get more random backers. You really need to talk with Rob Arnold, Michael Bancroft, and Clint Stoker because they’ve gone through this issue extensively on their yt streams. Get in their and other cg Twitter dm’s. Hail king roy!

While I prefer he does this independently, I would caution him to think about this strategically. For him to thoroughly examine the pros and cons to either option.

I’d vote for independently.
However, I can say that if he does it on Indiegogo he may have farther reach; meeting a wider audience that he may not have if he runs it off his own website.

Then again. Why not do both?
Independent site for standing fans who want to support him and make sure more money makes it to his pocket.
Indiegogo to rope in customers not familiar with Eric’s work.

I think much like Patreon, it’s a useful tool for building a foundation, but as soon as that foundation is built, chuck it and let the brand stand on its own merit. But, I’m sure Eric has thought about this much more than I have, and will make the smartest decision for his business one way or the other.

Both: Early Release to all various Subscribers and then Hit IGG with an ADD Campaign on top. Might cost a tit more in the short term but in the long run it will pay off.
