Comics typically have three reasons for special powers, tech, meta-human, and Magick. ISOM sounds like it has the Tech and Meta-Human aspects, but would you like to see Magick introduced in the future? If so which direction would you prefer, something more like John Constantine or Dr. Strange? 🧙‍♂️

    P.S.

Wicca is the fastest growing religion in the world, and a giant market that’s into comics as well!

Invincible went the route of magic being this ancient force that couldn’t really be understood so Kirkman could make characters like Monster Girl and Dupli-Kate. I like that route the magic can change depending on the culture and Wicca could be one of those for sure. I don’t know much about it though.

Hey, nice to meet you! Ancient knowledge is my bag and I’m trying to convince Eric that I can write a series, I already have a screenplay written and a method of how Magick works in the story I made there, and it’s heavy on the comic book style. Even gave my girl a “super hero landing” in a scene!

If you’re wondering why I spell it with a K it’s because that’s the kind that manipulates probability and outcomes, ‘magic’ is just an illusion.

Didn’t know that. Thanks for the explanation.

Magic can make things interesting but the biggest trap for magic is that it can be used as an ex machina and cheapen things if done incorrectly.

Hence why a strong foundation of “physical laws” for Magick must be established before writing the very first issue of the characters using it. Once the laws are founded they are NOT allowed to be broken, like physics! 🧙‍♂️

Now that Isom #1 is out, we’ve gotten little peeks at the Rippaverse. Well played, btw, not explaining everything at once since that would be a total snooze-fest.

But one of the stingers at the end is the teaser for Norfrica. Clearly, demons are real and a threat to the entire planet. We don’t know if Norfrica is full of mages or actual deities but their power is obviously magical in nature (although if they are deities, you could consider supernatural separate from magic). Regardless, more is coming and I’m excited to read more to see how magic is treated in the Rippaverse.
