Comic OC thread!
It’s been a fun writing exercise for me for years coming up with ideas for characters and powers and events, especially when I see a shitty woke thing and think “I 100% could make something similar that is actually compelling”. It’s gotten to the point where I have a whole comic world filled with characters, the only problem is that I cant draw for crap and haven’t actually put together a full cohesive story for that world. I’m working on that now actually!
But enough about me do you guys have that one “that would be so cool if X character was a thing” idea that you just can’t get out of your head? If not try making one, if you are a creative its a good way to stretch that muscle!
I’ll start with the main character of the story I’ve just started: Donovan Yu Dean, hero name “Young Dragon” is the youngest of a family of heroes. Like his name suggests, he can breath fire. In this world there are three types of humans: Homo Sapien, Homo Mutatus, and Homo Arcanus, and he’s a Mutant. Not only can he breathe fire, the hotter he gets the stronger he gets, but that is also his weakness. His skin and muscle tissue is so good at resisting fire from the outside, that it also stores his own heat very fast, and he is prone to overheating and passing out.
Being trained to be a hero from the jump the story revolves around him helping young men and boys who didn’t have his support and are on their way to becoming villains. But as good and pure as his intentions are, being around this wild boys is starting to temping Donovan to let loose. Maybe more than he should. Hence the name of my potential comic “Young Dragon and the Rowdy Boys”
But enough about me what are your cool OC’s? I PROMISE I wont steal them 😉

I did write a novel that I will adapt into a comic someday. So I guess I have a lot of comic book ocs technically

Novel to comics is an interesting transition. What’s the genre? I’m working on a novel too but the novel is fantasy and the comic is a hero action flick

I am new to the whole writing/ drawing experience? I understand I can get an artist for art work if you can’t draw, but what if your story is weak? I am concerned about that fact. Being a new person as a creator and a limited budget for my first project I don’t want to spend all this money putting a book together only to find out the story sucks and then not only have to refund a bunch of books but also be stung mentally on the first go around….Is the story editor a possible solution?

Me being the type of person with a strong fictional imagination in my day to day mental life; I have many sets of these type of ideas.
One of them as a main character archetype is (Genesis Man).
About him I would describe that he comes from a Militant/Dynastic/Esoteric Magic like world/universe where he achieves a high district rank in Officer field guarding order for his Kingdom as well as revolting against oppositions that break law and evoke chaos.

Another OC in my head is (Hard Man).
He’s “organic cybernetic” so he was born half man half machine internal like skeleton and process organs. From adolescence he does go into different bio chambers so his body can receive fuel to boost his cells, muscles, and fiber etc. By the time he is an adult he would have active training in combat as well as laboratory science to fix his bodily enhancements and have relative IQ as a bounty hunter. I would think of his base to maximum strength and overall endurance as something like that of Ten Hercules ( at basic fiction standards combined). TJ Combo (Killer Instinct) and and Jackson Briggs (Mortal Kombat) are some big influence of this character’s personality.

The last one on my mind to share is one I’ve thought of called (Diamond 💎 Vertikles). The last name is just a pronunciation I thought went with his tone. (Vert-ta-kiss) would be how I sound it.
This character set off in my fixation of original cosmic characters that fascinated my imagination in my 20’s as I worked and had yet to discover my IDD.
About this guy he is a being that is made of Stellar diamond atoms that compound his external body and his internal structure. His spirit would be past Trillions of years so his Time and Space IQ would be high to say the least though he sees himself sentient with nature. He draws his power from Stars or other radiant celestials and can create novas as well as telecommunicate with celestials planets and stars if they have consciousness proximity.
So yeah this guy is way ahead of my gate keeper ideas.
: Other ones I came up with similar are Crystal Vertikles, Asteroid Man, Comet Man, etc with that type of cosmology.
