Daily Poll 203: How do you feel about Iconic Comics?
Iconic Comics is a small indie comic publisher that’s behind the series Black Hops, Soulfinder and Kamen America. All three series take place in the same universe and there big crossover book is funding now. Kamen America is Iconic Comics most well known work and their first comics I’ve read. I really loved Kamen America and I backed to get the rest of the Iconic Comics line up so from a content perspective I love Iconic Comics. I have heard members of Iconic Comics have been involved in some drama with CG members like Ethan Van Sciver. It all seems really petty to me but it does make me reluctant to support IC books in the long term. That is just me though. What about you? Don’t forget to vote on the poll and to comment below!

As someone who’s never read comics before, Kamen America is the ONLY reason why I decided to read comics in the first place. I would have waited for the RippaVerse to come out, but I got a little impatient, and wanted to see what the fuss was about with Iconic Comics.
I’ve only read the first volume so far, but from what I can say is, I absolutely love Kamen America. It’s funny, the action’s pretty good, there’s a LOT of pop culture references, and overall Carly Vanders does a female superhero WAY better than what Marvel/DC are doing nowadays.
I’ve been trying to follow the drama with Doug Ernst and EVS just to see what the issue is, but at this point I frankly don’t care. And to be completely transparent, everyone may praise and look up to EVS as being the godfather of ComicsGate, but I owe nothing to him at all. The reason I am reading comics now, I owe to Mark Pellegrini and Timothy Lim. And that extends to Doug as well, since I decided to back the big crossover they recently announced.
Regardless of all the petty crap, I love Kamen America, and will continue to support it. And it’s cuz of KA that I’m even more hyped for the RippaVerse!

I’ve read all of Kamen America and I really loved it. There’s a webtoon series for it that I recommend going through as well after you read all 5 volumes.
