Absolutely. I got into buying comics after eric had evs on his stream. Only buy from cg since I don’t have a lcs to find back issues. Can’t wait for the rippaverse.

I haven’t actually bought anything from ComicsGate yet as I’m mostly into manga. Having said that, I’m 100% going to buy a comic from the Rippaverse, and begin supporting more ComicsGate folks like EVS, Gabe Eltaib, and especially pick up Kamen America from Iconic Comics.

We need more competitors that’ll shame Marcel and DC.

I support the idea of creators doing their own thing independently of the Big 3.

The only CG adjacent books I’ve backed is Magic Cop and a few Ya Boi Zack projects, other than that I haven’t read/backed any. Apparently it’s debatable that Splatto Comics is CG. I won’t pretend to know them arguments. 🤷🏿‍♂️

What do you consider the third? Dark Horse?

        Image comics

They have the indie feel, but they’re undeniably a big part of the main stream.

Personally I don’t know enough about comics to even make an accurate statement on their work. What I do know is people: There is a hunger for quality. Quality of all kinds has been forsaken for ideology and profit. Taking pride in ones craft and having passion for it makes the results exponentially better. I don’t know how we go to the point were that actually isn’t involved in making art, but anyone bringing it back gets my support.

I think story should always be in the forefront. If a character is interesting and a bit complex a variety of readers will be able to relate from their own experiences. When they’re just tokenized or the sum of the character falls squarely on their identity it’s only relatable to a very small sub-category of a much larger audience. I love Batman and Spiderman but I couldn’t tell you how they identify, what their religious views are, or where they lie politically, to name a few. They save everybody regardless of vaccine status.
