Daily Poll 79: What is the best Crowdfunding Platform?
Crowdfunding can be done for charity but since I’ve spent probably a bit too much money on comics on Indiegogo; I’m talking about crowdfunding platforms that host projects that intend to provide a product or service. Indiegogo and Kickstarter are the big two in this space. Indiegogo has deplatformed less people and they handle better transactions better than Kickstarter, so Indiegogo is better in my eyes. What about yours?

I’ve found that Indiegogo is the go to for me. Kickstarter has become more and more of a cesspool. If you want more info on that, just watch a series called “Kickstarter Crap” by iDubbbz. And, I’ve never heard of the third one.

I’ve spent many hours watching Kickstarter crap back in the day. Zoop is more of a comic publisher where the creators are chosen and the site handles fulfillment which is crowdfunded. I haven’t heard much about it since it’s a very new site but I’d figured I’d add it any way.

A Crypto wallets make funding platforms useless. The debacle with GoFundMe and GiveSendGo exposed a vicious bottleneck. Sure alternatives will arise but ultimately if their funds goes thru the banking system and not direct (peer to peer, P2P) then they are subject to the same concerns. The decentralized nature of Bitcoin (for open ledger) or more private chains like Pirate Chain and Monero make stopping them nearly impossible.
