It’s not worth it at this point to try and cancel what I paid for 3.5 years ago… All the same, these comics will probably end up in a box unopened and unread. I’ve stopped following Ethan Van Sciver, so I don’t know if he is or isn’t still trying to promote unnecessary WWE level drama, but I doubt these books will retain any value since he went scorched earth on other creators. I’m starting to think he wasn’t fired from DC for being a Trump supporter. He was fired for being an asshole and hard to work with. But I digress.

If the pic shows up, I know it doesn’t sometimes, it will show a January 2021 order placed and an estimated delivery date of December 2021. It’s May 23rd 2024. I’m on track to get my copies of Yaira #1 from Eric and the Soskas well before I get Snowman: A Cold Day in Hell from EVS. And you can guess which one I’m genuinely excited to read.

I don’t care enough anymore to be disappointed. It’s just a thing that will collect dust. There are other brilliant comic book writers and artists. Please be sure to support your favorites. And don’t let the bad ones take advantage of you.

Speaking of: I think something is wrong mentally with Richard C. Meyer (Ya Boi Zack on YouTube). For some reason, any time there is any level of inconvenience or frustration in the comics industry, he throws a fit and cries. But if something similar happens in movies, video games, etc, then it’s not real, doesn’t exist, or we as consumers are over reacting to it. It’s one hell of a disconnect and I’m bout done listening to him.

Just Some Guy was also really annoying for a while, and though he’s still more interested in owning “the chuds” (Religious or Conservative types) than making a point, he hasn’t been as abrasive recently. I think the X-Men 97 show actually gave him something to be happy about. Will it last? Probably not. I find more value in desk/furniture building videos as well as garage makeovers these days and may just slowly start unfollowing drama mongers to clear my feed and my head.

I got a Snowman and Rekt planet sitting in my collection. Only so much time in a day and when I’m not writing or working then I’d rather play games or relax. I do want to read these books and review them at some point but I cannot get behind All Caps Comics as a brand since EVS is more focused on trashcasting then drawing and fulfilling.

Part of me thinks they could actually be great stories… But I’m burnt at the mistreatment of the kind of person who was all in on EVS’ messaging that he then burned in multiple ways. It’s sad it’s come to this… But it is what it is.

And like you, I’d rather do most anything else than open a severely delayed book I’ve long lost interest in from a guy who’s long lost interest in his fan base.

I followed him for a while, when he pretended to be a centrist or a moderate person on YouTube, but that was before he revealed that he was an anti religious, anti conservative hardcore leftist on Twitter. He got a lot of backlash for his position on the parental rights bill, and as a result he detached himself and unfollowed all the people that he was in contact with from the FNT crowd. I then unfollowed him on both social media platforms. I find it interesting how he’s supposedly a big Tolkien fan (which is why he’s had a of common ground with people like Gary and Az during the first season of the ROP) and yet hates conservatives and religious people. Tolkien was a Catholic man, he was a conservative man, he would’ve been considered an extreme right winger by JSG’s own worldviews. LOTR is littered with Catholic principles and symbolism, it portrays traditional values and old conservative concepts.

Right? JSG seemed level headed and willing to speak on all accounts without animosity. Obviously with the occasional call out or retort, but that’s to be expected.

But little by little that mask started to fall and he had a downward spiral about the Parental Rights in Education Bill as though he got his talking points from Extremist CNN personalities. He took it it out of context and when individuals, like 1/4 Black Garrett (An actual, biological father), called him out… He doubled and tripled down on a stance that would be proven false and inaccurate.

It was so bad, Pink thought she was brave and stunning and donated a bunch of “Banned Books” to her Florida concert goers… Books that weren’t actually banned in Florida. But they WERE banned in her native Los Angeles. Ironic that never got mentioned. She was completely clueless, trying to fight a non-existent boogeyman, when the monster was in her own backyard the whole time.

Much like how JSG reacted to the “Don’t Say Gay” Bill that was never real. But that was the hill he was willing to die on. He went silent for a bit, at least on YouTube, and emerged trying to stay semi-balanced like he started, then quickly hit the downward spiral again… Until X-Men 97 came out. Then he seemed to cement his footing… Something halfway between “This isn’t as bad as the conservatives think” and also “F the conservatives”.

I don’t have a Twitter/X profile. I nuked my account in 2019 when politics took over the platform. But I still have my YouTube profile… After this rant, I think I’ve given myself enough reason to unsub JSG. I just recently did the same with Comics Matter w/ Ya Boi Zack.
