This might be too on the nose for more serious storytelling, but it would be hilarious to have a character that constantly tries to insist that his/her race or sexuality is the reason they’re not getting what they want, just to be told and forced to reckon with a very simple and obvious reason instead like “it’s Sunday. They’re closed.” Maybe they could even have blue hair or something and a power set of gaslighting, intolerable whining and emotional manipulation.

    Introducing, the activist. lol.

One last piece of context, there are pretty much always trays of cookies, bags of candy assortments, and occasionally bowls of m&ms and the like sitting out in the break room area. That has never been regarded as a problem. But apparently pizza would spread covid because reasons as mr July likes to say.

The ethics of the state could be mostly resolved if we could simply opt out. People who want to have social security, or government healthcare, etc can just check the yes box on their tax form for the year. Check yes for whatever functions of government you will use, or would like to participate in, and be excluded from financial responsibility or any benefit provided by the other programs. The state would have to shrink considerably for this to be feasible, but it resolves a lot of the ethics and doesn’t require anyone to pay for things they find morally abhorrent or ineffective and means nobody’s getting a free ride on someone else’s unwilling back.

For example, my state just created a compulsory payroll tax for a retirement home when we’re seniors. All I ask for here is a “no thank you” box I can check. If not enough people check yes, refund the contributions and close the program.

The same approach could house the homeless, treat the mentally ill, and assist disabled people, without removing the possibility of a viable market competitor and without forcing anyone with other priorities to pay for things they wouldn’t fund voluntarily.

In its current form, fuck the state.

I think this is a good tactic to increase site engagement and get people coming back every day to see what’s happening. I’ve noticed the initial surge of activity here seems to have tapered off a bit, and I’d like to see it explode with activity. I’ve voted yes, but it would be interesting to see a daily poll that changes topics regularly. Maybe even be a regular segment on the podcast? Gaming, politics, economics, news, comics, etc.

Maybe also add a way for members to submit poll questions? This might remove some of the burden from Eric and our very busy mods.

Im doing a rotating w/o schedule focused on different muscle groups every day. also dropped all high fructose corn syrup from my diet, dont eat much bread, no candy, if i have beer, i dont have it again for a week. i bought a magnetic white board to put the eating rules on my fridge, which has helped me stick to it. honestly the best dietary change ive made was drinking a bottle of water every time i feel hungry to cut out snacking on junk food. if im still feeling snacky i make popcorn. so far so good. dropped an inch from my waist and gained 1 inch on my bicep circumference. it feels really good to see the weight falling off and the muscle tone start to show through.

Incels are an interesting phenomenon. Of course some men really do just dislike women, or disrespect them because they feel entitled to getting their pee pee touched by one, but fuck are true incels rare. It basically just became another term for any man who isn’t a cultural marxist. Add it to the list behind homophobe, mysogynist, racist, white supremist, anti vaxxer, etc.

I also find it a bit insulting just as a man because it implies that our value as a person is derived from our ability to get women to want to have sex with us. Can you imagine the mouth foaming, vein popping rage you’d encounter if someone seriously suggested that being an un-fuckable woman made all of your opinions about anything invalid?

They’d probably call you an incel.

I was excited for this when I realized what the website revamp was going to be. Easy to feel alone out here these days and the podcast helps me tremendously. Networking with other freedom minded people is essential. Can’t wait for the app.

On the positive side of this, I am seeing more and more people refusing to comply with mask and Vax requirements, local donation based funding to pay for restaurants fines for not checking vax cards etc. our last local health agency covid nazi actually stepped down, and I’m not sure if it was due to the credible threats he was getting or if he actually cracked open some studies to see the data first hand and realized he was wrong. Either way, they are starting to run scared and it’s a great thing to see. The downside is that his replacement isn’t even in my county, but somehow still can dictate behavior here. She is actually worse than he was since no health advice or statistics are given anymore, only orders.

It was nice to see my family and go stand around my grandpas cherry tree. The staff know who we are and were clearly uncomfortable with the situation and not allowing us to eat inside. It’s getting harder to feel optimistic here, but I suppose there is a silver lining.

The south looks better every day, but I have deep roots here. It will be hard to leave when I finally do.

Here’s a picture of grandpas tree all lit up last night.

I’m tired of it too. Still have mask mandates, and vaccine mandates to be in restaurants and bars in the county I live in and constantly hear things about how the unvaxxed are the cause of basically any societal problems of today. It’s highly irritating and downright exhausting to deal with. A middle finger and eye roll is typically the simplest and most appropriate response to these emotional bigots.

I’m a semi regular listener to Michael Malaces podcast and generally enjoy his content. I’ll look for this, thanks for the tip. Simple wisdom is often the easiest to ignore. Can’t spread a disease you don’t have. What a concept. lol.

No links, and I went out of my way to avoid negative language, because I know YouTube will auto delete comments with too much negative or critical language in them. I’m confident that certain numbers or percentages in a comment with words like vaccines and infected fatality rate are what caused it. Typically I agree that malice should be the last conclusion to reach, but I have little else to blame for this. A quick search showed that I’m not the first to encounter things like this, although nobody else is saying their post included statistics on covid.
